Hilo fell asleep so I think I’m going to do some laundry.
I know it’s already clean, but it’s been laying on the ground for a week.
And it’s mixed in with my actually dirty clothes.
For the first time in my life, I’m working full-time. The entire past week has seriously drained me. I just want to sleep, too.
I’m trying to find cute things to put in my cubicle.
Can you tell I’m tired?
Him: Why do you always leave your dishes in the room?
Me: [looks at the plate I’ve been reusing for stale cinnamon rolls] I haven’t… I’m reusing that one. I’ve taken them out…
Him: No, you’ve been leaving your plates in the room for the last month, and I’ve had to take them into the kitchen for you.
Me: [pauses and thinks a moment] Okay…
Him: [mimics] “Okay…”
Dear Hilo,
What’s wrong with you today?
I feel as if I’m missing something, some clue as to why you’re passively nagging at me about different things. I don’t know if you’re upset at having to take my dishes in sometimes (not all the time, because I took in dishes when we got back from our vacation and I’ve taken in your plates often as well…. It just never occurred to me to bring it up), or if you’re just letting me know that you’d like me to thank you, or something.
I just figured it was just one of those things we just do for one another, or something we do when it simply needs to be done. Like when I do laundry, I don’t really make it a point to say, “Hey, I’ve had to put your dirty clothes into the basket, then into the wash, then into the dryer, then folded them and hung them up for the past few months.” I like doing things for you. I hope it makes you happy, and it’s less for you to have to do. Plus, I had to do my own laundry anyway, so I never have an issue with putting it all together.
I don’t know what you want me to say.
And when you mimic me in that voice….
It really just shows complete disrespect :(
Can you not hear how you talk to me sometimes?
Hurt,
A
