Getting Kaiba as well, so Hilo and I can watch it together.
Summer Wars was amazing, by the way, and very touching. Madhouse Productions (the same company that produced The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Paprika) has perfected that heartbreaking sound of a girl crying, and it gets me every time.
I was really happy that Hilo liked it because I had read some reviews criticizing Summer Wars’ for jumping around too much and ending weak. I didn’t think so, but while I was watching the movie I could see what they were talking about. Hilo and I were most interested in how the virtual world of OZ was going to tie in with the real world. The art style is DEFINITELY like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and it’s especially evident in the way the main character is drawn (looks like a less feminine Makoto) and when they’re in OZ, there’s a marquee in the background that is almost identical to the scrolling clock in TGWLTT. They really amped up the world of OZ, though. The amount of detail put into the artwork and special effects is just staggering.
To make things short, we would both recommend watching it.
I’ve just finished the series Ichigo Mashimaro and I’ve begun The Tatami Galaxy. I’ve also started a list of manga I’m going to begin soon as well. I’ll make a list on my personal blog later for anyone interested.

Currently “acquiring” Summer Wars for Hilo and I to watch later. I really wanted to get the 1080p version, but it’s 4 gigs… So I’m settling with 720p with the tri-audio and the English subtitles.
